Today's Idea for the Automotive Industry
Product(s) Used: Collapsible Chairs
Method(s) Applied: Thank-You Gift
Theme(s): Thank You
Car manufacturer Ford Motor Co. wanted to thank its
customers who purchase a new automobile from the
company. The manufacturer wanted to send them a
gift that would be well appreciated and that had a
high-perceived value, particularly because of the
amount of money the customer had spent on the
new car. It was decided that the thank-you gift
should be unique and somehow be tied in to the car
purchased. After a new car is purchased from Ford,
the buyer's name is put into a registry. Then the
name and the interior and exterior colors of the
purchased car are forwarded to Easy Seat Inc. (asi
51510). Easy Seat then sends two of their
collapsible chairs directly to the buyers' homes. The
color of the chairs sent matches the interior of the
car purchased. The chairs are embroidered on the
back with the Ford name in the same color as the
exterior of the car purchased. Ford has been sending
the thank-you gift for six years.

The color/design of the hat is different each
